Add or edit catalogue entries

The information to be provided for a catalogue entry consists of three parts, to be entered in three panels:
  1. a general description of the entry,
  2. identification of a contact person for the resource,
  3. resource specific properties.
All fields labelled with * are mandatory. The entry will not be saved until all mandatory fields have been filled out.

General description

The resource name should uniquely identify the resource. A general description should be provided in the description field. One or more resource domains and keywords should be selected.

Contact person

The information entered here should identify a contact person for the resource, e.g. an instrument PI or a service operator.

Resource properties

Resources have been assigned to four categories: model, data, instrument and service. If a resource falls into more than one category, please create multiple entries identifying the resource type in the resource name and/or description. Each resource type is characterised by a specific set of information fields. When selecting a resource type, the page will refresh to reflect the input fields relevant to the selected type.

Model, data and instrument resources have one field in common: "Available through". The items listed in the corresponding selection menu are service resources that have been entered previously. Selecting one or more entries indicates that the resource to be added or edited is available in some form through the selected service(s). Examples are: a dataset can be browsed on a data service, a model can be run on an application server, real time images or data of an instrument can be viewed on a web site. While the catalogue is being populated, services will be added, so check regularly if a service has been entered in the catalogue (or prompt the service owner or operator to do so). This resource type identifies services that implement multiple models and/or datasets. Individual models and datasets in the catalogue can be linked to services that provide access to them.
